This week, Megan Thee Stallion corrected false reports that she had been arrested on Sunday, July 12 and revealed that she had been shot multiple times. “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me. I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets,” she wrote, in part.

On Friday, Megan tweeted more about the incident and how she feels as she continues to recover. “Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own,” she wrote. “It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.”

The alleged culprit in Megan’s shooting is rapper Tory Lanez, who was arrested at 4:30 A.M. Sunday morning at a Hollywood Hills residence on a concealed weapons charge. Megan and Lanez were apparently hanging out at a pool party last Saturday night at Kylie Jenner’s house. Here is an Instagram Live video of Megan and Jenner together. Lanez also appears in the video, starting at about 13 seconds:

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to People on Monday that Lanez posted his $35,000 bail and was released from jail. He has a scheduled court appearance on October 13.
